Small Steps Daycare Inc. was founded in 2002 by Karen Maria Smith.  "Small Steps Daycare started out as a way for me to be a stay-at-home mom after being laid off.  However, it quickly became the most fulfilling job I have ever had," says Karen Smith.  Karen returned to college to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education after leaving her former career behind in Human Resources Management.  

Small Steps Daycare has a home daycare feel with small teacher-to-student ratios and fosters the social/emotional needs of all the children enrolled.  Small Steps Daycare understands the importance of working alongside parents to provide a healthy environment that stimulates development.  A partnership is needed among caregivers to enrich the lives of each child we have enrolled; It most definitely "takes a village" to raise a child.
